SEMSA Walk Celebration

SEMSA Virtual Walk 2021
Dear friends and supporters of SEMSA, I pray you are well. Thank you for continuously supporting SEMSA and helping our community stay active and healthy. Last year we had a virtual walk/run which was extremely successful thanks to you. I invite you again to join SEMSA’s virtual run 2021. This year we challenge you to reach the Attari-Wagah border, over 5000 miles from Glasgow so we can show you the exciting border parade. We encourage you to walk, run or cycle to reach the target by the end of June individually or with your friends and family. Individuals or groups who contribute the most miles will be recognised and those who reach the border first will win.
We will send you a Strava group link shortly to record mileage and encourage each other to be active and lead a healthy lifestyle, if you’re unable to use this you can send us your miles via text. We look forward to another successful run.

2020 Summary
SEMSA strives to promote sports such as football, badminton, and running especially among the BAME community. We hope that Scotland’s victory will be a catalyst and spark that desire amongst minority ethnic football players. We are hopeful that in the near future we will see BAME players join our national team and emulating the success of Scotland’s current squad.
No Scotland, No Party!
SEMSA Free Virtual Group Fun Run October 2020
SEMSA would normally be organising events getting people together to participate in sporting activities. Under the current circumstances, due to this Corona Virus we are not in a position to do that. SEMSA Committee want to continue to serve its members to participate in some form of exercise and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
With this in mind, we are asking you as an individuals or couples to walk, jog, or run in your local areas, i.e. parks or other open spaces or even on open footpaths.
Rather than choosing particular time and date, we encourage you to pick your own suitable time, taking into account the weather.
We are asking you to take part over the weekend starting from Friday the 2nd October to Sunday the 4th. October. Please encourage your friends and family members to either walk, jog or run and let us know, how many KM you have managed to complete.

The awards will act as a stimulus to create much needed awareness of the many BAME individuals and organisations that continue to affect change to ensure sport captivates the lives of some of our least active communities.
